SATURDAY, JULY 7

NEW & NOTABLE THIS WEEK

There seems to be no end in sight of this heat! Nothing is better than a cold beer on a hot day, so be sure to stop by Saint James Brewery for a refreshing taste of relief and bring home a bottle for the weekend ahead.

For a little break from cooking, visit new vendor No Place Like Home, joining the TaSH this Saturday. No Place Like Home will be serving Chicken Paella, Gazpacho and Tortilla de Patata (Spanish Potato and Onion Omelette.)

We are well into market season, but there is always something new to discover...

Have you been introduced to some new cheeses at Chaseholm Farm Creamery? Visit Ellen for the full scoop, and be sure to taste the Barrett's Blue.

How about pickled watermelon? DACHA Live Cultured Veggies has a variety of pickled foods to try.

The much anticipated return of Holy Schmitts Horseradish is this week - if you missed them on opening day, make a point of tasting the freshest horseradish you've ever had.

Jack Knife will be at the TaSH every week to cover your sharpening needs!

SATURDAY, JUNE 23

NEW & NOTABLE THIS WEEK

We're officially in summer and graduation is on the horizon. Our produce farmers have hinted that they'll be showing up with a few early tastes of summer veggies this Saturday so arrive early to get your pick! Look out for some of the first zucchini of the season, pickling cucumbers, garlic scapes (get 'em while you can - their season is limited!), more and more strawberries and (if we're lucky) cherries might make an appearance, too!  You might have also noticed JD Farms has also started to bring some of his delicious tomatoes grown in a high tunnel. Woo-hoo summer goodies!

Planning end-of-year celebrations and send-offs? Get some celebratory items including... A variety of celebratory drinks Warwick Valley Winery for the parents and refreshing Kombucha varieties from Blessed Brewery for the kids, specialty treats like Maple Cotton Candy from Soukup Farms. You can even pick up a beautiful (and amazing) - and VEGAN! - cake to celebrate your grad from Sweethearth Bakeshop. If you're looking for a unique hors d'oueuvre to serve this weekend, we've got a few options for you there, too. Grab some flavorful chutney from NEW vendor, Bombay Emerald Chutney Company and serve with an early summer crudités platter. Or, check out the Radicchio Marmalade from AnnaMaria's Foods (which pairs divinely with Chaseholm Creamery's Camembert and a baguette from Bien Cuit or Wave Hill Breads).

There is one question we have heard this year at the market every week since opening day...Where are the tacos?!? We are so happy to share with you that Luis Aguilera, owner of Halstead Ave Taqueria has opened a new restaurant in Port Chester, NY. Needless to say Taco Shack is Luis's main focus right now, but we are staying in touch a hoping that Halstead Ave Taqueria will return to the TaSH in the future. Until then you will have to pay them a visit in Port Chester. Get the details here:  http://www.westchestermagazine.com/Blogs/Eat-Drink-Post/June-2018/Taco-Shack-Opens-in-Port-Chester/

P.S. Jack the Knife returns this week.

Opening Day at the TaSH!

The TaSH is Back - Join us Saturday for Opening Day...
View this email in your browser
SATURDAY, MAY 26
We are just HOURS away from Opening Day to our FOURTH season of the TaSH and we have such an exciting day and season ahead! We are thrilled to be welcoming back many beloved vendors from last season and are excited to introduce a variety of new additions. Join us from 8:30 am - 2:00 pm  tomorrow and come ready to shop from ~30 vendors, picnic in the park, and rock out to an incredible line-up of musical talent! We also invite you to join us on the Village Green at 11:00 am for our Opening Day celebration - complete with complimentary treats!

Here's a taste of what you'll find tomorrow and this season ahead...

NEW & NOTABLE THIS WEEK

Tomorrow's temps call for HOT and SUNNY weather - a perfect kickoff to Memorial Day weekend. To quench your thirst, grab a (vegan!) ready-to-drink chai from Samosa Shack or a cool, hand-crafted Kombucha from Blessed Brewery, who will now join us every other week this season!

Head over to JD Farms to start stocking up for your Memorial Day cookout and while you're there, have a taste of Lou's *new* made-to-order brioche egg sandwiches with his own farm-fresh eggs and breakfast meats! They are part of his new expanded offering of prepared foods at the market this season!

Looking for some delicious items to add to your weekend BBQ? Grab some sides and condiments from new vendors including pickled veggies from DACHA Live-Cultured Veggies and spicy homemade horseradish from Holy Schmitt's. Stock up on locally-made BBQ sauce from new vendor, MOMO Dressing, and snag a variety of spices and seasonings from WillYum Spice.

For dessert, indulge in some of Meredith's Bakery's awesome pies or pick up a specialty homemade french cake called
"Altitude 3396" from J'adore Bakery - an orange soft cake made with honey and a heart of homemade orange confit, native to Chamonix, France.

It's no secret that we had a rough spring full of cold and wet weather days. Our produce vendors have been working 'round the clock to rush spring veggies and, in reality, some crops are still a couple weeks behind schedule. That said, we'll have FIVE recurring produce farmers joining us for the season including returning vendors Fishkill Farms, Mead Orchards, Mobius Farms and new additions Orchard Hill Organics and Peace and Carrots Farm.  (Peace and Carrots Farm will start June 2 and Fishkill Farms will start on June 9).

On Opening Day look out items such as lettuce, herbs, radishes, turnips, spinach, apples, rhubarb and some of the first strawberries of spring! In the weeks ahead, you'll get a chance to shop for rarely-seen and unique seasonal crops not commonly found including items like currants, gooseberries, pawpaws and chickpeas picked at the green stage!

Coming Soon! You may have noticed on social media that we're excited to welcome a brand new fish vendor this season, Hudson Valley Seafood. They are a sustainable fishmonger that's been in the business 35+ years. They will join us as a weekly recurring vendor along with Peace and Carrots farm starting next Saturday, June 2. Curious to know who else is in the line-up for tomorrow and the season ahead? Check out our vendor map for more details!

SATURDAY, DECEMBER 2

NEW & NOTABLE THIS WEEK

Happy Holiday season from the TaSH!

We hope you will join us for our Holiday Pop-Up Market this Saturday, December 2nd from 2:00 pm to 5:30 pm in Patriots Park. No Black Friday lines, and no cyber shopping here -- just friends, lights, festive music, and of course the best local goods for everyone on your holiday shopping list.

While it'll be your last chance to catch many of your favorite market items for the season, you're in store for some new and exciting offerings from many of our regular vendors. Grab a Mexican hot chocolate or cup of soup from Halstead Ave Taqueria while you pick out your one-of-a-kind holiday wreath at Mobius Fields.  Mobius Fields will also have rhubarb ginger jam, pickled vegetables, Cabbage Hill Farm sheepskins, yarn, wool scarves and more!

Looking for holiday gifts? You're in luck. Grab stocking stuffers and treats like international holiday cookies from Cookiest, small batch kombucha from Blessed Brewery, and maple mustard and pure New York maple syrup from Soukup Farms. Ring in the season with a variety of local spirits from Broken Bow Brewery, Hillrock Estate Distillery, Neversink Spirits, Tousey Winery, and Warwick Valley Winery and Distillery!

We had a BLAST at our first TaSH Thanksgiving Dessert Contest! If you are looking for a recipe to impress this year at your holiday table this holiday season, check out the winning recipes below! Special thanks to our judges including Sleepy Hollow Mayor Ken Wray, Tarrytown Mayor Drew Fixell, Phelps Hospital's Glen Taylor, and Renee Chillemi of The Reformed Church of the Tarrytowns.

It's hard to believe another season has come to an end. We are so grateful to everyone for a wonderful season and wish you all a happy and healthy holiday season!
