NEW & NOTABLE THIS WEEK

School's back in session! Stop by the TaSH for healthy lunch and snack options. Check out our complimentary meal planning service, TaSH to Table, which will be highlighting great back to school meal options for the week ahead!

Irvington Delight's hummus, and other dips are great for school lunches and zucchini bread from Meredith's Country Bakery are a healthy treat for after school.

Visti DACHA Live Cultured Veggies and WillYum Spice to add some flavor to busy weeknight meals.

Make sure you are stocked up on pantry items, like Kontoulis Olive Oil and Balsamic Vinegar from Kontoulis Family Olive Oil.

Sweethearth Bakeshop's granola with some yogurt is perfect for a busy school morning breakfast.

School lunches and meal prep mean you need to get your tools in shape! If you have delayed, make sure to get your dull knives to Jackknife this week. He will be away the following week September 15th.

And to celebrate the triumph of thriving (or surviving) the first week of school, treat everyone with delicious award-winning chocolates or Luxxelles artisan ice cream sandwiches from Luxx Chocolat and maybe a bottle of wine from Tousey Winery for the parents!

Preparing for Rosh Hashanah? We've got your grocery list ready to go with High Holiday favorites including Challah bread (Meredith's Country Bakery), Apples (Mead, Fishkill), Grass-Fed Brisket from JD Farms, and so much more!

This weekend marks International Bacon Day!!! In 1539, Hernando de Soto brought 13 pigs to the Americas and within 3 years he had a herd of them that was 700 strong. Which is probably why he’s credited as being the father of the American pork industry. Over the years, the popularity of bacon continued to grow. Today, it is one of the most popular food items on the planet. Feeling hungry? Grab yours at JD Farms and Majestic Farm

SATURDAY, JULY 21

NEW & NOTABLE THIS WEEK

The warm weather has pushed stone fruit out a little early, you can find peaches at Mead Orchards. And as you enjoy your first summer peach relish in the fact that it is still July!

This week we welcome NEW vendor The Peanut Principle offering gourmet nut butters.

Monthly vendors Hudson River Apiaries and MOMO Dressing are at the TaSH this week so buy enough to last you a few weeks.

Baked with Jake returns with delicious hand made cookies. For something fun try The Almost "Everything" Cookie.

Good news alert! A few weeks ago, it was announced that the technology company that enables SNAP benefits to be dispersed at farmers markets would close down operations at the end of July.  This would be of course devastating to the millions of SNAP beneficiaries in New York State alone and also gravely impact the farming community. SNAP benefits often go very far at farmers markets! The TaSH, by example, DOUBLES SNAP benefits up to $40 thanks to generous grant support to its food assistance programs. Today we are thrilled to learn that the National Association of Farmers Markets Nutrition Programs is stepping in to stave off the shutdown, meaning SNAP customers will still be able to use their benefits at our market in the near term. We'll continue to keep our customers updated on this issue in the near future.
