The TaSH is powered by Rivertowns Village Green Inc., a 501(c)3 non-profit board of local community members as well as an incredibly impassioned team of volunteers and rock star TaSH staff.

Rivertowns Village Green Board Members

KRISTA BARRONWhy I Volunteer: I volunteer my time on the board because it’s exciting to work with neighbors on both the fun and thorny issues of building a place where our community can come together. In addition to the weekly ritual of seeing my neighbors, what I love about the market is the possibility it presents with its high-quality, made-with-love products. Who knows what we’re going to get to eat this week?! Favorite TaSH Item: Majestic Farms’ Maple Breakfast Sausage Links

TAMMY BORDEAUXWhy I Volunteer: I volunteer because I love the sense of community the TaSH creates. One of my absolute favorite things is seeing our “village green” at Patriots Park full of live music, kids dancing and people enjoying their Saturday with friends and family.Favorite TaSH Item: I can’t choose!! It’s like picking a favorite child. But I’d like to give a shout out to Birdie’s Batch for making chocolate chip cookies that my husband, Drew, loves (he’s very picky with his cookies), Deb’s gorgeous Dahlias (Mobius Fields), Lou (JD Farms) for helping me welcome meat again, and Sasha’s Seafood for her beautiful halibut!

ANNIE CAUTHRENWhy I Volunteer: The TaSH combines all the things I love in life together in one perfect package - delicious, farm-fresh food, my beloved hometown community, and gardening. There is nothing I find more peaceful than strolling through picturesque Patriots Park early on Saturday mornings, perusing what new bounty has appeared, all the while talking to our amazing family of vendors. They are incredibly knowledgable and so committed to their trade!Favorite TaSH Item: The almond croissants from Bien Cuit are pretty much the closest thing to heaven on this planet.

RICH PACHECO

Why I Volunteer: In a world built for convenience it is easy to feel disconnected from our sources of food.  The TaSH offers our community a chance to support our local economy and be reminded of the many benefits of eating local.  I love the Tarrytown / Sleepy Hollow community and feel that the TaSH is a hallmark of our community.  There is no better way to give back than to support the TaSH.

Favorite TaSH Item: My kids know that the pickles from Tony’s Pickles, slushies from Bear Mountain Coffee Roasters and the monkey bread from Wave Hill are standard routine, but I also love Sasha’s Seafood’s seafood chowder and the fresh pasta from Flours Pasta & Bakeshop.

JOSE PERILLANWhy I Volunteer: I dread Saturdays when I don't work at a TaSH market. In my family TaSH isn't just an activity we do on the weekend, it's an integral part of our existence.I can't imagine my life without the weekly buzz.Favorite TaSH Item: My family loves chicken sausages and all forms of green, leafy vegetables, but my favorite "product" from the TaSH is not something you can eat. I simply love the effervescence.

RACHEL SANGALANG

Why I Volunteer: The TaSH will always be a special place for my family – we adopted our dog Cooper after meeting him at the market years ago! I volunteer because of the wonderful sense of connection the market promotes. I’m happy to support the various community programs available at the TaSH that help bring everyone together.

Favorite TaSH item: It’s hard to choose, but my favorite things at the market include the sweet and savory empanadas at Girl from Empanada, the seasonal ice cream flavors from the New Confectioner, and I always get an iced tea from Teagevity.

JILL SANTOPIETRO

Why I Volunteer: My family and I are fairly new to the Rivertowns. The TaSH was one of the big draws for us – a place that sells healthy, delicious food, that brings the community together, and that helps keep our farmers and land thriving. And now that I’ve had time to meet that community, I want to be a part of it even more. My career has always been in food. Helping the TaSH feels like a natural fit.

Favorite TaSH Item: Sasha’s Seafood. What a thrill to be able to buy such delicious, fresh seafood in my backyard!

SUZANNE SORRENTINOWhy I Volunteer: I love being part of the “TaSH Team” because two of my most important values are connecting with people and honoring Nature. Food, cooking and eating have always been the vehicle for living out those values. My work with The TaSH is an opportunity to bring all of that together.Favorite TaSH Item: It’s impossible to narrow down all the amazing foods at The TaSH to a single favorite. If this is any measure, I’m usually a little grumpy if I get to the market too late to score a Wave Hill rosemary focaccia bread.

WANDA TRACYWhy I Volunteer: I volunteer because I love that the TaSH makes a difference in our community and people’s everyday lives. TaSH provides a “happy place”, a place for people to gather food for the body and the spirit, all at one time and place!!! Favorite TaSH Item: Fresh green curly kale is a staple at my house. Several of our vendors produce the best kale available anywhere. Yellow cherry tomatoes from Mead Orchards are popped into my mouth daily during tomato season—so yummy! Oh, and I also love the Snickerdoodle cookies from Wave Hill!!

MARY BETH VULTEE

Why I Volunteer: I volunteer for the LOVE of food!  I have built my career around this passion for food - understanding where food comes from and how food is produced and grown. Food brings people together in such special ways and I am grateful for the opportunity to contribute to this market that has brought our community together over the years and connected us to so many awesome local suppliers!

Favorite TaSH Item:  Although a difficult decision, the Half Sour Pickles from Tony’s Pickles are my favorite.  They don’t often make it home; the whole family eats the entire pint container at the market.  I guess there could be worse things for us to devour.  I also love Irvington Delight.  Freshly made hummus is far superior to store bought.  Hummus has become it’s own food group in our house.  A few of those dips, some veggies and pita and dinner it done.
