In Westchester County, it’s estimated that nearly one in five residents are food insecure - meaning they lack reliable access to a sufficient quantity of affordable, nutritious food. The TaSH Farmers Market is pleased to be able to offer a variety of food assistance programs to the local community. They include:

SNAP Double Bucks

The TaSH not only accepts Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits - it doubles their value! It’s as easy as swiping your EBT card at the TaSH Tent at the market. Swipe for up to $20 and we will give you $40 in tokens to spend at the market. For more information on how to apply to SNAP and an explanation of eligible foods, visit:

Farmers Market Nutrition Program

Under this program, income-eligible mothers of small children and senior citizens aged 60 and over can obtain checks from the county to use at the market on eligible foods such as fresh fruits and vegetables. The program for mothers is called WIC (Women, Infants, Children). The program for seniors is the Senior Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP). For more information, visit:

FreshConnect Checks for Veterans

Veterans (which includes those serving active duty, vets and their immediate families, and surviving spouses) can obtain FreshConnect checks from the NYS Division of Veterans Affairs on a first come, first-served basis. These checks can be spent at the market on fresh purchases including fruit, vegetables, eggs, dairy products, baked goods, chicken, meat, fish and other foods to take home and prepare.
